Cool Timing Belt replacement interval

I've read here numerous times that the T-belt and tensioner should be replaced between 30k-60k due to the fact that it tends to break or come off during that time. In saying all that my question is: If I had the T-belt and tensioner replaced due to a recall at 24k, when should it be replaced again? Better yet, if you replaced the T-belt and tensioner at 24K at what interval should the next replacement be???? (ex. 24k - 48k - etc???)
Thanks!

Does the same interval hold true for the +98 3.2L (I noticed this thread was started by a 2.2L owner)? Could someone here offer some advice on maintaning the timing belt.

Also, you may look into replacing the water pump while you're in there, that's the word I've been seening in this fourm, but again, I believe this is on the +98 3.2L, not sure on other models.

Good Question, and I'm currently at 60K, so I'll be interested in following this thread.

The water pump on pretty much any vehicle that has it mounted on the engine block and driven by the timing belt should be replaced when the timing belt is replaced. The new belt will be tighter and the old water pump will fail before the next time you have to replace your timing belt. That means you'll pretty much have to do the same job twice and you risk overheating your engine....and if you have the 3.2L with the aluminum engine, it CANNOT take overheating and consequently the head gaskets tend to blow easily. Its better to just spend a little extra cash, kill two birds with one stone, and be safe rather than sorry. Hope that helps.
