Newbie, weird electrical problem Jetta 2000

I have a Jetta 2000 1.8T, Manual Transmission and around 80k miles. I have been experiencing some electrical problems. Some stuff works and some doesn't. The first problem I had was that I couldn't close the car with the alarm key. First I thought it was the alarm key battery, but I used my replacement and it has the same problem. The other things that dont work are: Power Windows, Sunroof, inner lights, power mirrors and couldnt open the trunk.

The headlights, radio, wipers, dashlight, horn, break lights, turn lights, warning lights all work perfectly. I took a look at the fuse box but the fuses looked ok to me.

I've only had this car for two months so I dont know if it has happened in the past.
I was wondering if it had anything to do with bad weather, since it has been getting cold and raining lately?????

Without checking it out, I can only make a guess. First, I doubt it's a fuse, since you don't generally have a bunch of fuses burn out at the same time. I think that the accessories that you described are on the same wiring harness. You can get a Haynes or Bently manual and check for sure. I'd first check the connection point of the harness, then trace it to the components. Since so many things are out, the short or break is probably early on.
