Lightbulb '02 Remote Keyless Entry

Check it out... new car problems (no sympathy needed):

I can lock / unlock doors, pop the trunk and lower the windows. But I can't close the sunroof or roll up the windows. My wife says it's a safety feature, but who cares, I want it to lock down like Fort Knox at the push of a button.

Any ideas? Can this feature be added?

Yes... I have nothing better to do or more important things to worry about...

Good news and bad news...

Good news -- it's possible.
Bad news -- if you are not familiar with taking the car apart and doing some wiring, then it's not possible.

You can simply purchase some window roll-up modules. Many manufactures make them, DEI, Clifford, etc. The module is connected to constant power, windows or sunroof, and the "armed" signal wire. Once armed, or locked, the module will roll your windows up and close your sunroof. It's not too hard. However, if you are not comfortable about doing that, I am sure any alarm installation place can do it for you. These modules usually run under $50 each for 2 windows.

Hope this helps...

not sure about the sunroof, but you can close the windows by inserting the key into the door lock and turning the key to the lock position. Hold the key in the "lock" positing for several seconds and the windows will close - you have to hold the key until the windows are completely closed - it is not an auto up close - that's why you have to hold it...

almost anything within reason is possible to do to a car. its really just how much you want to spend. if you put enough into it you could give your car gull wings.

that may be true - but from the factory you can open and close the two front windows with the key in the door lock. it is a standard feature of all 02 and up maximas... the key fob will only LOWER the windows. It's the same with the Pathfinder as well as the 02 and newer altimas (depending on trim level).

no need to go spending extra money, because it comes that way from the factory...
