Exclamation please help convertable top

Okay, this may sound really stupid, but my family and I just purchased and '92 BWM convertable soft top, and we can't figure out how to get the roof off. If anyone knows how, help would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

Re: please help convertable top

the roof folds into a well how it goes in depends on whether it has mechanical latches at the windshield or a fully automatic top. the electromechanical is put down by opening the latches at the windshield, pushing up on top till front section pops up, pushing button until stored. the automatic you press the button.

you may also look for the latch under the boot once you release the handle latch in the driver side rear where a door handle would go if it had a door--pull the top back from the front liftingit up, then release both the inside handle then you can lift the rear of the top up enough to access the inside latch of the boot which you can reach if you lift the boot slightly this should allow for the lifting of the boot and storage into the trunk area--this is for a 1989 BMW 320i CAREFUL OF THE PLASTIC WINDOW AND TAKE CARE OF HOW IT FOLDS THEY DO NOT HOLD UP WELL
