question about the law concerning a loudspeaker for car?

is there any problem with me having a loudspeaker inside my car, and doing things like coming up to school blasting the ice cream truck music just for laughs? we were doing it during lunch one day and returning from eating, and going the other way was a cop and we had it playing to the max, and the cop didn't look too happy, but he never pulled us over, one of the reasons he might now have pulled us over is because we were going back to school though, so i dont know, are there any officers or people that know this kind of law out there?

Disturbing the peace maybe, and I suppose if you get an a-hole cop he could write you up for inpersonating a police officer.

In Littleton, Colorado, law states if if the radio in a car with the windows down can be heard from 20 feet away you can be ticketed.

No cops enforce that though.

Re: question about the law concerning a loudspeaker for car?

sometimes I wish cops would enforce a noise law....I'm up until 3 to 5 a.m. every day anyway, but I live in geezer-burb...every once in a while we get someone coming through here with bass/noise that rattles my windows...even with sound iso-headphones on, i can still FEEL their bass...now, normally i don't mind. at 2 a.m., i do mind...

When the sun goes down, so does the system...

My friend had a P.A. in his truck a while back. That thing is fun as hell to use to mess with people. When you're sitting at a light or traffic and people are picking there nose or drinking a soda it's funny as hell to make sound effects. Some people get pissed off, some laugh at it. Good time.

I didnt say A sound, I said the sound meaning the sound of the speakers. I'm sorry if I didnt make a clear statement.

no actually you did make it clear, the mistake was on my behalf because I didn't fully read what you wrote before I posted.
