sputtering Isuzu

I have a 1995.5 Isuzu rodeo v6 A/t. My problem is when i get ready to and hit the gas it kinda sputters and wants go dead but doesnt.and after i run it for 10 min. or so and stop and leave it idiling it sounds like it is missing or something but i dont smell gas at the tailpipe.I put new plugs, wires, and a fuel filter(the old one was pretty bad) and a couple of bottles of fuel injector cleaner in it but no change . Could it be that i just have really bad gas with alot of water in it . If so should i replace the fuel filter again..

I have a 95.5 and I have found out a couple of things about this vehicle that kind of had to be forced on me. I have worked on a lot of cars.

This vehicle is very particular about the brand of plugs and the gap.

Since you have already changed plugs and wires try this,
Disconnect your battery for about ten minutes and then hook it back up. This will reset you ecm( Computer)

Then start it and let it idle for five minutes or so. Don't throttle it or anything just let it idle and it will relearn the fuel curves and timing.

btw NGK is the plug it probably calls for.
Also you don't say how many miles on it. Has the timing belt been changed?

Hope that helps
Mike

You mean do-it-yourself or for a shop to do it?

If you change the timing belt and tensioner, make sure you replace the water pump as well. If you don't the extra pressure of the new belt will cause your old water pump to fail. The sputtering you describe sounds like what happens when you've got bad plug wires, but since you replaced them I guess that's not it. I would also agree that you need to put either Denso or NGK plugs in your vehicle...anything else won't work as well.

Ok I tried the battery thing and i think it helped it a little bit but after i drove it and went to work .When i got ready to go to lunch i cranked it and it sounded funny and the RPM's were really high.so when i got going and hit the brakes to stop all the warning lights(CEL,Winter,)all of those blinked .so i got home and turned it off and tried to crank it back i heard a click and then nothing no power anywhere.so i cleaned the battery cables and stuff and it is running fine.Would the corroded battery cables do that to it.......
