Post boost control solenoid restrictor questions

well, this weekend i plan to install my electric boost controller. i would also like to do the free mods: cutting the dump tube and the boost control selenoid restrictor.

my questions...when installing the boost controller the boost controller solenoid is no longer needed right? so there is no point doing the restrictor mod no more right?

Re: boost control solenoid restrictor questions

You bypass the stock bcs in the very installation of your ebc, so don't worry about it.

word for the wise. unless you want your check engine light on all the time. dont unplug the bcs. just bypass it.

Re: boost control solenoid restrictor questions

nope, i unpluged it. im getting tired of looking at the cel though. i might put it back in, cap the vac fittings, and see if that will finally shut the damn thing off. i thought it was going to go away after 40 warm starts when the ecu clears it code list. its been 3 months.

Re: boost control solenoid restrictor questions

I can't seem to find the boost control solenoid restrictor. I have an import tuner mag with pics and explainations, but I can't find it...could someone show me a pic with the restrictor circled?

Re: boost control solenoid restrictor questions

just follow the 2 vac lines from the turbo & wastegate, its dirrectly under the fuse box mounted to a bracket connected to the body. its about the size of a lighter.

take off the intake pipe, it will be right there.
