Blinking Overdrive light

Okay - so in addition to my other interesting problems in the morning if i get stuck in stop and go traffic my overdrive light flashes on and off until I turn the car off and turn it back on - anyone else have this problem or know what it could be??

I have personally found that when the overdrive light blinks like you have described, there's a good chance that your Transmission fluid is low, other problems I have encountered are the usual sensor crap outs, but try the fluid first

Actually, When the overdrive light blinks on a Ford, it means some sort of General Transmission Problem. Not just that the fluid is low, although that can be a cause of the GTP. My recommendation is, if the fluid level is fine, and does not appear or smell burnt, then I suggest you take it to a transmission shop and have them run a transmission diagnostic on the car to check for any problems.
