Exhaust burps?

Is it common for a cavalier to make a burping noise when revved up or floored? I just put a magnaflow muffler on and it sounds like shit, it makes like a clicking noise when taking off and a burp like its kicking back or something, is this supposed to happen?

Re: Exhaust burps?

Your bouncing off your rev limiter... and yes that noise happens and others will soon occur if you keep bouncing it off of it..... just some friendly advice to stop doing that... there is no need to be reving that high, except for childish new driver games...

Actually not... Its people like you that need to STFU... Personally, i think only the import 4 bangers sound like shit, and this is why i was skepticle about puttin one on my car, but have been complimented on it before.. Nor have i have Pig trouble.. I can't even hear my exhaust when i get in a high end of a gear in my car... i hear my engine echoing through my intake...

Re: Exhaust burps?

I think he's just not used to the sound of a stock exhaust, my motor will have a "clicky" sound at low RPMs even at half throttle, once it's over ~2000 it's not as bad. The "burp" he's talking about is probably the loudness of letting off the gas, mine is more loud when revving/idle back down, of course I have have a glasspack so (sucks, I know) it seems to magnify the imperfections of the motors sound throughout the powerband.
