I need help

I have a 1990 gmc suburban which is currently having technical difficulties if ya know what i mean lets start at the begining we had a new moter put i say new but its new to me anyways it was running great for quite awhile but then it started to miss like not running on all cilinders now it gets wierd it wouldnt miss all the time like you go into town its missing stop at walmart etc start it upits running fine then at a stop light it starts missing or somthing like that so we replaced oxygen sesor thought thats it it ran great then but then it started again replaced the oxygen sesor again this time that did nothing so i dont know what to do i thought if it was something like a valve problem yeah it would miss but it wouldnt straghtin out so thats that problem if anyone could help me it would be so gratly appretiated Now i have a new problem like i need one anyways now its over heating its real weird i took a little road trip to visit some friends its about 300 miles itdid great other than the missing until i got about 50 miles from destination i rolled up to a stoplight didnt really even stop but when i pushed on the gas it died so ilooked down at the temp gauge it peged the red so i put in neutrel and pushed it to shoulder waited for it to cool added water it started right up made it the rest of the way no problem athe whole iwas there it did fine then on the way back same thing kind of i meanit did fine untill i pulled over and i stoped and then when i got in and tryed togo it started toheat up so i waited poured some water in ran fine all the way home so now it sporadically gets hot i dont know where to start looking for the problem so if anyone could give me some guidenc i would very much appretiate it so that pretty much it thanks for any help

Check the thermostat. Other then that, maybe your radiator is plugged up. Lower radiator hose? Check to see if it might be collapsing under preasure. Water pump? Check and pressurize your entire cooling system. Check for leaks. Flush the system.
