Re: bbk 62mm throttle body for my 95 tsi

if you use a 62mm tb you will need to port out the throddle plate going into intake manifold, if not port out the intake manifold. there was a decent thread about that on dsmtuner not more then a week ago.

Are you serious? "Is a larger throttle body better than a smaller one?" YES. The answer is that it's better. It's not a good buy though, considering a 1g TB is 60mm, a huge increase over 2g stock. I wouldn't worry about 2mm in the throttle body on a stock manifold.

Re: bbk 62mm throttle body for my 95 tsi

I have a 3000 gt TB and it bolts right up to the manifold. In fact it looks 99.5% just like the Eclipse aside from some lil things here and there. The TPS even mounts the same. The opening is like 63/64mm the last I checked. Is that a little much?

Re: bbk 62mm throttle body for my 95 tsi

DSMers are breaking BBK, accufab, ford, edlebrock, and other throttle bodies more often than I snap input shafts and take pistons apart. I would highly NOT recomend it unless you are aware of all the actions required to help it live more than a week. Not worth the effort in my opinion, hence the reason I run a 60mm 1G NT throttle body on my car.

If the vac ports face toward the battery you already have a 1g BOV. If they face toward the manifold, and the top of the manifold was ground slightly to let them clear, then they used a 2g TB. A 1g TB is a direct replacement for the 2G, the only important difference between the two is the TPS (2g TPS incorporates the throttle closed switch, while the 1g TB has an actual switch on the throttle linkage, hence the extra 4th pin on the 2g TPS (3 on the 1g TPS)).

hey kevin are those 1g nt tbs the same as the turbo ones? all you gotta do is replace the throttle body seals with the turbo ones right. maby the biss oring also? probably help out anybody wanting to swap a 2g tb for a 1g tb.

They are the same except in the UICP connection. The NT does NOT use a TB elbow like we are used to, it has a 2.75" inlet that you clamp a coupler to. Thats why I went to it, works well with my 3" UICP. But you are right on all other points mentioned.
