Bad exhaust smell
I have a 2004 Denali and have noted a bad exhaust smell. I previously had a 2002 Tahoe and did not have the same bad smell.
What causes this and can it be corrected? |

Re: Bad exhaust smell
What are the conditions under which you notice the smell? Could it be the under-body coating if the vehicle is still new? Can you describe the smell? A rotten egg or sulfur smell usually indicates a failed catalytic converter, for example. If that were the case, though, you'd most likely also notice a degradation in performance.
Take care, Jerry

The smell is similar to a bad egg or sulfur smell. I notice the smell after initially starting the vehicle. The smell is quite noticeable when starting the vehicle in the garage.
