Installed new tranny mount, notice a lot of shaking now....

Ok, the stock tranny mound was literally ripping off(it was hanging by one bolt LOL), so I tossed it and installed one of those polyurethane mounts from www.prothane.com.

I don't know if anybody's used these, but I notice my car really starts to vibrate after the rpms go over 2000rpm, it will not do it at lower rpm's either.

I know I installed the mount properly (anyone who's done one should know it's pretty simple) and I know that a polyurethane mount will not absorb vibrations as well, but what I feel is VERY pronouced, expecially at 2500rpm (feels like I'm hitting warp drive LOL!)

Is this normal? I can't think of another reason why this would happen.

polyurethane is a lot stiffer than rubber, so it holds horsepower better by not allowing it to bleed away. however, the stiffness doesn't allow it to absorb as much vibration as stock rubber, so it's only natural. the only other thing i can think of is that the trans mount got the tranny up so high that's it's rubbing on the floor pan.

IF you know its installed right, bolts tightened down well, and its the correct mount, then its not the mount. Did you remove your drive shaft when you did the mount? If so, did you mark it and reinstall it the same way?

Yes I marked it, but then again I'm not an expert, I just decided to tackle it myself with the help of my Ford Service Manual.

Anyway, I'll tell you guys in detail what's happening:

Car feels normal at Startup, but I am getting a lot more Tranny noise (It goes away when I press the clutch pedal in). I'm assuming the mount is transferring the noise easier into the chassis.

I don't have to be riding it, I can leave it in neutral and it will do the same thing. Let's say I leave it in Neutral (I have T5 Manual tranny). I start revving up the engine, and no major vibration until I get to 2000rpm, them it starts vibrating harder and vibration strenght peaks at 2400rpm (at which point it's enough to make CD's start skipping), then after it goes higher than 3000rpm the vibration will start to drop off and get weaker (enough to let CD's play normally again) the higher it goes.

Anyway, the *exact* same thing will happen whether I have the clutch pedal pressed in or out, So I can't see the Driveshaft being the problem.

Personally I think it's just the stiffness of the mount, I was expecting it, but not to this degree. (I have noticed that vibration has been reduced after the first couple of days riding it, maybe it's breaking in?)
