pioneer 6x9 help
ok, so i bought some pioneer 5 way 400 watt 6x9 speakers for the rear deck of my 97 cavalier z24.... however..... they dont fit into the stock slots..... how do I install these things? Please help!

are they too small or too big? if theyre too small... are you sure the stocks are 6x9s?

Yes the stocks are 6x9. You willl have to cut the tin to get a flush fit. I'm going to have to do the same for my 3-way 6x9s

well what i have done was mounted mine on the rear deck which is going to be fiberglassed soon so the sony explodes i bought are showing. looks good.

thanks guys...... i took a grinder and ripped the stock holes up and got them a lot bigger. Then I drilled holes and screwed the speakers right in...... too bad the carpetting top touches the speakers... i think im going to have to cut 2 holes in the carpetting thing and then mount the speaker covers on that.

I installed a pair of Audiobahn 6x9's, and instead of going through the top, I drilled them onto the bottom. It required minimal cutting, and it doesn't interfere with the rear dash... sorry if its a little late, but its just another thing you might wanna try.
