Annoying Problem For Inexperienced Driver!

Hey guys heh i just got my license like a week ago,,,,,my GMC 1993 2500 idles very rough....it will eventually die after 2-3 minutes! also when im driving and take my foot off the gas to park or turn it dies!...another problem is ill try to start it and it wont start, so i go and gently tap my starter with a hammer and then it fires up. We have replaced the starter 2 times? Do any of you guys no what to do? Thanks a lot. clark

Hey Clark, here's a stupid question- when was the last time it had a tuneup? If you can't remember or don't know, this will be a good intro into your truck. Buy yourself a service manual at your local AUTOZONE and have an employee find what you need. Believe me they are very helpful.

If you've had a service done soon then does your SES light come on? If so, again, go to AZ and have them read the codes then go from there.
