420a cutting out and missing

Hey,

I have a eclipse with a 420a/auto trans in it. It's a 98 btw. In 1st gear no problems, 2nd gear no problems, 3rd gear from 1800rpm-2400rpm cuts and misses, and the same with 4th (OD) I think it's fuel related but not sure. I replaced the fuel filter today (Orignial OEM filter...138,000miles) and that did not cure it. It's like anytime it needs to develop tourqe and needs the extra fuel it cut's/misses....I think I am in the need of a fuel pump...what do you think it is.

P.S I have new plugs, wires (MSD super conductors) K&N air filter. And it's not bad gas.....I already drained/refilled the tank

make sure your plugs are gapped correctly, i had to regap mine to solve a similar problem

try your coil pack... might solve the prob. i was having similar probs with my eclipse (98 gs, 5 spd) when my alternator started to go out. but with more symptoms. are there any dummy lights (i.e. check engine light, battery light, srs) on ??? that would help us more ....

Well...I already gapped the pugs to what the factory said. I forget the gap...but I did recheck them. There is no dimming on the lights...the alternator was recently tested and was dead on perfect. Keep the comments coming!!
