VTEC questions

I was reading an article that was talking about VTEC and how the DOHC VTEC engine (B16) works so efficiently. Then they mentioned how DOHC VTEC makes for the most powerful and fuel efficient engine. The article went on to say that it is the best CURRENT engine...there is a new VTEC-i and i wanted to know if anyone knows of any cars that are implementing it or which cars will implement it. They also mentioned 3 Stage VTEC and how it combines VTEC, VTEC-E, and DOHC VTEC into one. Does anyone know what car that's in?? Specs??? It's kind of a broad topic, but any info is appreciated!

Re: VTEC questions

Well actually any vtec engine '96 or newer have vtec-i. Although they were probably refering to the new K-series engines, which is any vtec engine '01+. These are in the RSX's, the Civic Si, just to name a few.
I've never heard of a 3 Stage vtec DOHC engine, I've heard of SOHC 3 stage vtec engines. The jdm D15b is one. It gives you economy at low rpms, regualr d-series performance in the mid rpm range, and performance vtec in the high rpm range. Here's a link about it (about 3/4 down the page): http://asia.vtec.net/spfeature/vtecimpl/vtec1.html

Re: VTEC questions

i was j/w how much horsepower an eagle performance v-tec conversion would add? and if it was a good deal for around $140? because unfortunatly it came with the SOHC non v-tec motor in it..

Re: VTEC questions

It's "VTEC" and this doesn't belong in the jdm (shit made in japan, like skylines) forum.

meangrn, your question has nothing to do with this thread. Did you eat glue for breakfast? Wake up people.. fuck..
