rear speakers

I bought new head unit and speakers for my 97, when i put in the headunit the rear speakers stoped playing. ive been told i have to bypass the stock ampifier. does anyone know how to do this or know the color code for the wires?

that depends on the headunit...what kind do you have? I put my new headunit in and my stock speakers worked fine and about 2 months later i bought new speakers and put them in the rear. They have worked ever since i put them in. Take your head unit out and make sure all the wires are connected good...may have a loose connection.
