My 2000 GTP only gets about 13 in the city but on the highway cruising at 73 mph it averages 33mpg according to the monitor. All stock with 100,000 miles, synthetics, fresh tune, BP premium. And....this is very important..........not hitting it hard to get any boost going. If I don't control myself and do around 90-100 along with the boost pegging sometimes it averages 24mpg.

Re: Gas mileage

OK, my 98 GTX was getting 14.2 MPG. Added a new PCM. (also added a bunch of other things). Felt milage would drop even more. I drive my car like I stoled it. The last time I check, a couple days ago, it was getting 16.6 MPG!!!! Now I'm adding a set of 1:1.9 roller rockers. Let's see what happens.
(I always say "roller rockers". Even with the fact that all our cars have them. But doesn't it sound good?)

MPG also has a lot to do with where you live.........type of terrain, average temps, humidity level, etc.

Check your brakes, make sure they are wearing evenly......ensuring you have no brake "dragging" problems. Also, lighten the load. A lot of people haul 300 lbs worth of shit in their trunk every where they go.

Re: Gas mileage

When did you look in my trunk?
You open my truck, there is one small bag, leather. In it is one can of wax and a couple clean rags. Don't even have net in it. Not that I didn't want it. It's just another thing the guy I got the car from kept. Should have bought the GTO, then I would have got a NET.

Re: Gas mileage

Best way to get better milage? Drive like your Grandmother. Ask GTPDAD what GM set as AGM and add about 5 MPG, that's about it.
