amusing skirmish

OK, so some of you may know, I got a flat tire a few days ago and have been driving on my donut(until tomorrow). So I have past up a few choice races and have not been too pleased about it. But my tire came in today, and I knew the donut only had to last 4 more miles, so on the way home from campus, I was pushing it a bit harder than I had in the past. So the story begins...
I'm sitting at a light, minding my own business, when a yellow mustang GT pulls up next to me and gives it a few revs. I look over, and see him glaring at me...so I give it one rev back. Then I signal with my fingers...6...0 and mouthed 'sixty'. He nods...so I assumed he understood...I was only planning on racing to 60mph.
Light goes green, I don't launch extremely hard, but I had him off the line pretty easily (AWD of a vr4). So I keep pulling on him, not redlining it, but taking it up to 5500. I didn't want to go all out on the donut...just beat this guy. So into 2nd, I hit 60, and hit my brakes about a car or 1 1/2 ahead. He continues on and flashes the hazards...so I do the same...from behind him. Now this skirmish was rather uneventful, but the dialouge was amusing for me.

At the next light:
Him: Why did you put the flashers on when you lost?
Me: I didn't lose, I was racing you to 60, and clearly beat you there.
Him: DUDE! that isn't a real race!
ME: That is where you are completely correct...it wasn't a real race, because if I wasn't on my donut I really would have whooped your @$$!

So the guy just takes off...through the red light, my brother and I just chilled, waiting for green, and had a good laugh.

LOL. That was a good one. Good kill. Even with your bro in the car, on a donut, and even better kill at that. Nice Job. Can only imagine how bad he would have looked had you had the new tire. late...

Dude, thats what I call beating him with one hand tied behind your back. you do have to understand that he probably didnt hit 60 untill after he passed you. he was at around 50 0r 52 (judging by the distance you put on him) so when you braked he was just about to hit the mark. you should of just flashed your blinkers before you hit the brakes while he was still behind you. a dude in a civic told me "its not over untill you flash the blinkers" maybe this guy and that guy went to the same racing school! good kill non-the-less.

Re: amusing skirmish

The thing is I don't typically use the blinkers...every race I've ever been in had a decisive winnner. I know when I've won, I know when I've lost, and I know when it ended prematurely with the person in the back pulling hard. ( for instance an '05 cobra that I would have lost to, had it gone on a few seconds longer...but traffic did not allow). I only tossed the blinkers on because he had, and he clearly hadn't won. No matter what his speed, being over a car behind, he could see my bright red brake lights in the dark.

Re: amusing skirmish

i would tell you not to be racing on a donut, but that would be coming from someone who raced on a slow leak up to 140mph.

nah that was a funny story and even funnier race
