323i ?

Where the gauges are on the BMW there is place were it show the time, MPG, the distance you can go on the amount of gas left, avrage MPH, and the temp of somthing. What is the digital display when showing the temp supposed to show. On my car it just stays a -40 all the time. What is wrong with it?

Hi Fred:
What is the year of your model? Inside the control panel, there are two big analog gauges to show the speed and RPM. Beside there two gauges, there will have one smaller gauges to show the fuel left and the temperature of engine. There will have another digital dial to show clock and temperature. I believed your reading 40 is the temperature of engine as I mentioned as above.

Re: 323i ?

Perhaps you are talking about the onboard computer? does it also show the time and date?

i am not even sure, is this even on newer e46 bimmers?

if i am correct, the temp is the outside temp, since bimmers typically use a gauge on the right for engine temp. . .
