Bucking Isuzu Rodeo
I have a 2002 Isuzu Rodeo with 2.2 Liter Engine, 5 Speed Manual Transmission. About five days ago, the car started bucking and sputtering like it not getting any gas. I changed plugs, wires and fuel filter. Now the car won't go past 60 mph. I got a check engine light and had it diagnosed as the camshaft position sensor. Does this sound right or can it be something else. The light keeps going on and off.

I have no idea if this will help, but it caught my attention as it's titled "THE BUCKING ISUZU RODEO"

Re: Bucking Isuzu Rodeo
Has your timing belt been replaced as recommended?

That's the thread I started on that forum. I still don't know what's wrong with the car.

Does the camshaft position sensor continue to throw a code? If so, that's where the problem lies. I'm not positive where it's located, but it most likely picks up it's signal from a cam sprocket, which would be located behind the (plastic) timing belt cover. This sensor is what sets your ignition timing and/or fuel injector timing. If it's not sending a clean signal, your truck will run like poop, or not run at all.
G/luck Joel

Re: Bucking Isuzu Rodeo
Wow. I didn't realize that. That's very different from my 2.0L VW, engine and other engines I've seen, which will run rough with the timing off. Many of those engines must crack pistons and bend valves.
