here in new england we have these vehicles at 5yrs old with brake lines rusting out. some have to replace the rear line every 3 yrs. especially next to the fuel tank the line will rust thru.
the other area is the driverside wheel well. if these lines are not protected by a shield and some brush on fiber reinforced rust proofing material they will all need replacing..
I installed a piece of rubber roofing and extended the inner fender down 3 inches to protect these lines and the other components under the vehicle, both sides.
lines can be purchased with a better coating than the GM oem lines as built. these GM lines are a defective line because the lines are made of metal that corrodes too rapidly. my 1996 does not have these line corrosion issues but the 2000 sure does.
