Angry '94 Metro headlights

while driving, headlights flashed off/on for a second. Did this a couple times. Hmmm. A week later, headlights did not come one until about 30 seconds after I switched them on. Now, headlights dont come on at all. Running lights and all others are fine. At first I figured "new headlights", but after discovering this sight and reading of past wiring/relay/ground/etc problems, I am not wondering wotz up? Any ideas on where to start? I've only had this car for a few months, so not very familiar with locations of electronics, etc. Thanks

Re: '94 Metro headlights

When wearing boots, my left foot used to hit a relay around the top of the toe. Since my daytime running lights were the same intensity as the low beams, I just noticed this when the high beams and their blue indicator light did not work, or when the hand brake was applied (daytime running lights turn off). The intermittent wipers would not function simultaneously with the highbeams. If you jiggle the (white?) relay, your lights may come on and off for you. I used to hear a click when they did.

Thanks for your response, I'll give that a shot. Had steering column cover off and wiggled and cleaned some things, but no luck. I'll track down the relay you mentioned and see if that does the trick. Kinda getting close these days, with sunset near 5:30 and speeding home before it gets dark!

That was it! After reading this, I tested the intermittent wipers and they didn't work. Got under the clutch were all the relays are located, did some wiggling and, viola! Lights! Will try and track down loose or bare ware to insure it doesnt happen again...or just see if wire got crimped. Thanks for the right on advice.
