Must be car-spotting time of year!!!

Yesterday I was driving through Portland when a Porsche 959 pulled out in front of me......

Yeah, I know what you're thinking.

You're thinking it was a 911 with a body kit (as I first assumed, knowing how there's only a couple 959's in the entire US).

When I pulled up behind at a signal, I saw the bodywork was just too good to be a kit, and the motor sounded nothing at all like a 911 motor.

Well, I followed this car for awhile, ignoring the meeting I already had planned, until the driver parked.

I asked him about the car....he confirmed it was a real 959. Then he could sense my enthusiasm & unhealthy knowledge of any Group B car from the 1980's, so he let me crawl all over & under it, just admiring one of the world's most advanced & valuable machines ever conceived. I'm still on a high from seeing that car!

The driver operates a Marina in the area (must be a mighty lucrative industry .....time for a career change for me!!!!)

damn......

priced at what....950,000......almost like a mclaren. hehehe. speaking of which, there's a suspious car that looks exactly like a mclaren out in palo alto...snobby richy part of northern cali....seen it with my own eyes.

but yeah.....959...you know bill gates had one....there's supposedly a few out there..never seen one, except at a car show...but even i know, that the ones that bill gates had..and so did his partner where both impounded by customs.

are you sure this was real? all wheel drive super porsche. hehehe.
