I have a 2002 SEL that creaks from the front end when I go over a speed bump verrrry slowly,or when I first hit the gas (weight shift off the front suspension) or when I make a sharp turn (loading one front side or the other), or when I stop (weight shift onto front suspension).
Dealer said they could not find anything wrong. Lubed and tightened stuff. Yada, yada yada, it's still creaking. Car has 23,000 miles. Anyone experience this? Anyone have any idea what it could be? Help/advice very much appreciated. Thank you. |

My guess is front sway bar link. I had to replace both of mine on my 97. One of them I replaced twice within 6-8 month, luckily I had bought lifetime stuff.
. I think the reason they do this is that the link itself is Tefflon and the ball joint that connects to the sway bar is metal (really brilliant engineering if you ask me).

I have a 2000 SES and for monthe now I've had the same problem.I had it at the garage several times and they could not find anything wrong. Recently the creaking has been really loud. I just read this topic and thought that might be my problem.I tried a little experement to see if it was my sway bar linkage that was bad and it worked. I got some spray penetrant pushed back the rubber boot and sprayed all the linkages. I took it for a drive and there was no noise. The whole time I was thinking it may be another wheel bearing. Maybee try this and see if it works for you. I am still going to replace both linkages.
