Re: HELP!95 sabre 3.8 big prob
your EGR valve is probably stuck, it should close when the car is warmed up, its probably that, because its throwing a code. It is probably a good idea to change it anyway.

Re: HELP!95 sabre 3.8 big prob
Goto autozone and have them check the codes- they'll do it for free. It might not be the EGR. More likely the cam sensor, but get it checked before you start fixing it.

Try "dry gas"
Yes i would go to AutoZone to get a free "computer code readout" first. sometimes they have a mean person who will do it but refuse either to explain what error code mean and/or refuse to erase the error code from your car computer ! just go another time when the mean guy is not there.
something like your car problem happened to me twice before...first time i used "dry gas" which is a $2.99 bottle to mix with fuel to clean fuel system from any water. it worked great ! second time last week when a "mechanic" fixed a hose but broke the "MAP" sensor...and the car was running rough and funny on idle like your car is doing. today i got my new sensor and installed it. |

Re: HELP!95 sabre 3.8 big prob
I'd be willing to bet AutoZone won't be able to pull the codes from your LeSabre. My 1995 LeSabre has the 16-pin OBD-II style plug, but has the wrong pinout to be OBD-II.
Current theory, for anyone concerned, is that the computer actualy still uses ALDL 8192 baud serial protocols over the modified connector. In the process of ordering circuit boards and IC chips to build an interface to test this.

Probably plug wires & plugs. That year had problems with carbon traking down the plugs. this concern get worse the hotter the engine gets. Pull the plugs out & check the porcelain portion of the plug. The carbon track look like tiny "lightning bolts" down the side of the plug. You can't replace just the plugs, because, the plug boot is contaminated also.
