"Check Engine" and "Check Trans" lights both came on after a gas fill-up
Okay, strange problem... In my wife's 2000 Isuzu Amigo, (4WD, 6 Cyl), the solid "check engine" and flashing "check trans" lights came on after my wife filled up with gas.
In the past, if the gas cap wasn't tight enough, the "check engine" light would come on until the cap was tightened, but the "check trans" light has never come on before. I've read that both lights coming on could be an electrical problem, but it seems odd that this happened after she filled up. One of her tail lights has been going on and off intermittently -- I don't know if it's related. Any ideas? Dave |

Dave:
When I bought my 98 Isuzu Amigo I was told to tighten the gas cap very tight or else the check engine light comes on. Soemthing to do with air and the electrical system of the vehicle. |
