Too much money.. or just about right?

Well,
Here i am with yet another dilemma.
I am already getting (hopefully sooner than later) a B18C JDM Engine,
but the car i have at the moment is a 93 CIvic DX Coupe/ Automatic tranny,
I have talked to several ppl, and they all tell me that switching to Stick on this particular car will be a pretty penny.
Their diagnostic to the problem is: " Buy a stick 93 or 95 COupe, and drop the engine on that one, the car will probably be cheaper than what you will pay for the tranny conversion."
Is this true?

more than likely selling and buying another car will be cheaper than converting. I have gotten a quote on converting trannies for a 2nd gen teg and was quoted $1200 parts and labor and that is on the low side.

yeah and i have read it will never quite be like a true manual tranny car due to some little things with the wiring under the dash and the key lock that the auto used to have needing to be left under the console and some other little things.

but on the other hand, there are a lot of people who have done it... i guess it is kind of your call if you want to do it or not. but it would probably be totally out of range if you were to have a shop do it instead of doing it yourself

id say sell it and get a cx hatchback and put the swap in there and i bet u wont blow too much money. it all depends how much u can get for ur car tough

Nice, i guess i'll just leave this one running top notch and sell it iin order to get a 5th Gen 5 Speed.
Oh well...
