Quick ????
Hey my friend is looking at buying a cougar and i am wondering how fast they are. Is the v-6 faster and how fast can they be stock quarter mile wise. What year have they been made is also a ? i think he wants a newer one like a 2004. Any info is appreciated.

yes, the V6 is faster, it runs low 16's/high 15's with a manual and high 16s with an automatic. I believe '02 was the last year but a few '03s may have squirted out.

car and driver listed them at 15.9 iirc. Modded they put out some pretty nice numbers. Ive seen them in the high 14s modded. Swap in a 3.0L and your looking at mid to low 14s. A guy on the cougar forum ran a 14.3 with his cougar. Best run on a naturally apirated 3.0L cdw-27 platfrom (cougar and contour) is a 13.4 @ 102.
