climate control?

I have a 83 Chrysler Fifth Ave and the problem is whoever had the vehicle before me snapped the vaccum lines on the back of the climate control box operating my vent, defrost, and lower heat. If I put vaccum lines over the old ones should that fix it?(coupling them together)

it should as long as you get a seal
