97 runner hard starting
My 97 4runner (65K miles) starts after cranking a little bit longer than I would expect. It always starts, but I usually have to crank it for a second or two before it turns over. Is this normal for 4runners? Most cars I've owned seem to start a bit faster. This car has been maintained well and always serviced at the dealer.
(Outside temperature does not seem to have any effect on cranking time) |

Re: 97 runner hard starting
I think that's normal for the 3.4 L engine.

Re: 97 runner hard starting
Yes, it's normal. Anytime my girlfriend drives my 4Runner, it doesn't crank on the first turn for her b/c she doesn't hold the key long enough. My has been this way from day 1 (97).
