grand am gt electrical problems

HI i have a grand am gt 96 and i have a problem that my wipers don't stop unless i turn off the car and start it up again .What can be causing this ?

It sounds like the switch in the stalk on the steering column is going bad. You can change this yourself. They usually cost about $40 bucks for a new one. If you have an air bag make sure you disable it before you start work, also you will need a steering wheel puller and a locking plate compressor to get to it. You can rent them from most parts stores.

hi ! thanks for the advice but i don't know much about car electrical system so i won't think about doing this myself i'll take it in.
