Talking Old Skool Vs New Skool

Lately I've noticed this Black Civic on the way home from work. It's a 2001+. It's a coupe, black and it looks very identical to mine, only newer. Some of you have seen mine before, and others here haven't (I'll show you if you ask). But seriously, every detail from the headlights, the covers, rims, tint style, wipers, I mean almost everything is the same as mine, but just newer. The only thing is is its an LX model. I don't know what the guy has done. All I notice is the exhaust. Mine is an EX.

So back to the race. I've seen this guy cruise the strip in Orem on the way home a few times. Sometimes he's going along with me, and other times he's passing me in the opposing direction. I've always wanted to race him to see what he's got, and I finally got my chance. He pulled up to the red light, and I gazed over at his car, just to see how similar it was to mine. Very close, few things were off here and there.

Anyway. I jump when the light turns green and he doesn't go for, so I calmly shift to 2nd and wait for him to catch up, slowly raising the RPM's. I roll down my window and as soon as he looks over I look ahead and nod. He nods as well, and he drops a gear. I hear his engine whine, and I'm hoping it will be a good race. So I honk us down, and BAM!! we're off. I was already at 5k RPM's so I got a good jump. I shifted into 3rd and by the end of 3rd I was already ahead by two car lengths. I didn't feel the need to go any faster so I slowed down right away. We came to another light, I waved him off as he sped through the red light and turned. . Was going to talk to him, guess he didn't feel like it.

Well, I don't know what his problem was, but oh well. If that's how he wants to be then let him. I'll take the win. Hope you enjoyed the story. OHHH BTW!!! My boy Marshall and I went down to St. George. It's in Southern Utah. Great place to find lots of races though. We took his Video Camera. So as soon as I can get a hold of him I'll try and get his Cam. We recorded quite a few races, so I'll try and get those on here. I'll post them as soon as I can get the vids. Well, hope you enjoyed reading. Late...
