It was a BLAST! Best year ever-the show continues to grow. We had 722 models on display, an all-time record. Seems like everyone enjoyed themselves immensely. We like to project a good dose of Southern Hospitality towards all of our guests, and do our best to make it the best show they can attend. We had three 1:1 Ferraris and a red Viper coupe outside on display as well. We'll be back on Nov.12, 2005 and do it again! Next year's themes are 50 years of the small block, and road and track...build street and racing versions of the same vehicle. We try to come up with theme categories that fill the tables. It seems to be working! Next year is also our 10 year anniversary. I'm sure we'll have some sort of celebration on that accomplishment as well.
My pictures aren't the greatest, I was borrowing a camera that I knew little on how to operate, so in auto mode the pics are just okay...and there was a pesky lense hood shadowing a few pics. But you will see some great model shots, some overall shots of the show, a rather candid assortment of individuals and vendors (sometimes I'd yell their name and then shoot), pictures of the winners, etc. I tried to get at least every car in the show in a picture, though some categories were so crowded that group shots were necessary. Leave some comments if you want your models recognized, or if you see yourself in any of the pics. I'll try to do some captions and rotate the ones that are sideways...500 pictures is a lot to work with! I can't believe the camera battery held up to all that, flash and all. 2004 ACME NNL Southern Nationals Model Car Show

Re: 504 more pics from the ACME Atlanta model car show
Aw man, don't think I'll be able to get through that uberload of pics in a hurry. Fotoki is blocked at work and at home I'm only on dial up! Still sounds like a great event - over 700 cars would be something to see. At any comp I've been to 70 would be considered a good turnout
Thanks for telling us all about it and posting the pics.So how many awards did our AFers win?

The guy who built is combined the two for our two themes...Mustangs and Ferraris. Go further into the album, you'll see the rest of it...he's also pictured in the album wearing a startled expression and a beanie/propeller on his head.

Last year our themes were "rat rods" and "tuners". He grafted an ITR front end onto a '40 Ford coupe, and painted it flat black w/red accents. It was rather nauseating too. ![]() I get a kick out of making him laugh. My job isn't done if someone doesn't spit their morning coffee on their monitor at least once a day.
