97 Drivers Information COmputer - buttons/lights

Is there a simple way to replace the lights behind these buttons, that show mps, oil pres, trip odo etc?

Two of my buttons are out !
& Occasionally the odo button wil not set the display back to odometer.

Help!

Mom's 99 park ave had the same problem. I pulled the dash, and removed the buttons. The bulbs are soldered to the circuit board for the DIC. You'll have to get a new circuitboard if they sell them, but it's most likely the whole button assembly you have to purchase.

I am looking at the parts Book, it shows two part no's for the "driver Display" as they call it.

the part no's Prices, and labor hours are:

25630061 $82.58 .5
25630060 $31.06 .5

these are on page 79 of the GM Parts book, the first part looks like the circuit board, while the second looks like the plastic buttons, the pics are very very small.

Re: 97 Drivers Information COmputer - buttons/lights

i'm sorry....i shouldn't have said that i ripped them out because i didn't!

i removed them carefully...it held by 2 screws on the back of the panel. here's what i did:

1. removed fake wood trim on both sides
2. removed side panel (on drivers side, with black hose connection for door vents) ; there should be 1 screw....unscrew it!
3. just poped off the whole panel that covers gages and radio and then u have access to the 2 screws i was talking about earlier!

i'll post some pics how it looks like...first you might think, hey they look like LEDs but i can asure you they r not. It feels like they r covered in rubber.

edit: i found the 2 part # online ( http://www.gmpartsdirect.com ) for half the price but with no pictures and i'm not gonna order if i'm not 100% sure that i get the right thing. I rather put some LED on there than spending 15-45 bucks. It's not a safety hazard when the lights don't work.
