Question 2000 Sierra Gauge problems

Hi all, I am new to the forum. I'm having some problems with my 2000 Sierra. I installed a "ProStart" brand command start, along with the Passlock II bypass module. Everything worked fine, until this summer. I noticed the heater stopped working while the truck was running without the key, a loose wire obviously. After I fixed my connection, my truck seems to have a mind of it's own. The gauge panel doesn't seem to do anything anymore, except the voltmeter and oil pressure gauge, and a check engine light. (I haven't read the code yet, but I will as soon as I get my hands on a reader.) When I'm driving, though, the gauges will light up once I get going.

I also installed a new bezel over the gauges, so I did remove them, but I've double- and triple- checked, and I'm sure that no wires are getting pinched or anything like that.

If anyone has ever heard of this, or even has any idea what I should start looking at, please let me know.
