is 01 stang gt faster than 95 camaro z28?

depends on how good of a driver you are.. they're pretty close though.

although the 01 Mustang looks better then the 95 Z28..

i don't like the headlights to the 95 camaros

yeah i agree i think the mustangs have to look andvantage.. thanks for the tip.. what about if the z28 was auto but had no back seats?

then the camaro can easily win if the mustang driver misses a gear.

the back seats only drop you about a .10 - .15

then again the 95 LT1 was not built to beat a 01 Mustang GT it was built to beat a 95 5.0 Mustang GT

either way both cars have fairly the same amount of potential..

so basically the 95 camaro has more power than most new model gt's???? did chevy make a faster car? is that why ford made cobras again? what about a new ss against a new cobra... would the cobra own it??

The 95 camaro z28 has more power then the mustang gt's except for the new 05's mustang gt's.

And yes, an 03-04 cobra will beat a camaro SS.

is that why they started making cobras again.. are mustangs lighter with less power or same weight with less power? which of the 2 (camaro or stang) can u mod more? better?

I believe the mustangs are lighter.As far as modding...both are about the same but I'm pretty sure the mustangs have a bigger aftermarket especially for the 5.0 mustangs.The parts are also cheaper.

depends if you got the money.. gains wise.. normally trans am's and camaros have bigger gains to parts then mustangs do.. atleast the LS1's so 98 and above.

the only times i ever seen a Ford car get big gains off of small parts is a 03 and 04 SVT Cobra.. but they're already supercharged.. my buddy threw on a Steeda CAI onto his cobra and got a 25rwhp gain... that's insane for a CAI...

but then again the car is already Force Fed.. thing is.. stock they come pushing about 350 - 370 rwhp

you drop a ATI Procharger onto a LS1 you can be looking to push from 480 - 502 rwhp..

but now you take the supercharger off of the Cobra then the LS1 will normally get bigger gains off of parts.. it really depends on which route you wan't to take and the things you take into consideration.

a 99-04 mustang GT is more than capable against a 97 or earlier z28 or SS. an SS is not very much faster than a Z28, its just a myth. they have a hood scoop and some other minor things to their tiny advantage. they started making the cobra again, i dunno...because there was a market for it? the svt line has always been popular.

-the mustang is lighter, for all years.

-the mustang has a growing aftermarket still for the 4.6 and has much cheaper mods. the lt1 f-bodys you will have a hard time finding aftermarket parts, a buddy of mine bought ss hood for his 97z and couldnt even find a k&n filter for it.

93-97 camaro vs 94-98 mustang the camaro puts a hurting on the mustang, the cobra released in 96 with the dohc is a fair matchup. in 98 when it was switched over to the ls1 the camaro once again would dominate all mustangs even the cobras up until the 03 cobra came out.

the mustangs are easier and cheaper to mod, the camaros have more peak potential.

the lt1 and 4.6 are pretty similar engines.
not having backseats will not shave off .1 to .15 seconds off of a 1/4th mile time maybe .01 if your lucky and thats pushing it.
if you have a manual and are a decent driver then you should win against the auto
if your both auto its really a toss up. just race and find out

ok, an lt1 is pushrod engine, 4.6 is ohc... id say thats a big difference. and not... FOR GODS SAKE THIS IS 2 YEARS OLD
