Re: Reprogramming a new key for 01 sport

I also just got a 2001, got a new key cut and tried to program it today, useing a owners manual I got off the net. It dident work. So I think you just have to pay the man and get it done. Let me know if you find out how to do it.

Thumbs up

had a FORD 2001 explorer key programmed today DEC 2 2004

$31.50 for the key cut at dealership, service manager pal of mine showed me how to do..(FREE)
take all keys to vehicle > insert into ignition > turn ON, but do not start car, so that lights on dash turn ON, insert new cut key last, also turn to ON position > then start...... and it becomes programmed thru the vehicle system.
JOB DONE no need to pay high fees....and no fancy computers used...
