What is this duct for?
On my 97 Rodeo with 2.6 4 cyl, there is a long plastic duct that picks up air next to the air intake, then the plastic duct runs all the way across the the top of fan shroud to the other side ( right) of the engine compartment and opens up next to the battery... Doesn't seem to have any function.
I can see it in the Chiltons manual but there is not explanation as to what it is for. anyone know? Chris

It's that second intake for added boost
 .. jk. I had something like this on my Suzuki Samurai, except mine ended right ont he headers!. My best guess is that it would add some hot air to the engine for emissions purposes?
