Cold Air Intake?

Does anyone know where I can find a cold air intake for a '97 Blazer LT?

Re: Cold Air Intake?

Although a very good setup, the K&N will yield NO better results when compared to a Ebay cold air intake.

Here is the best Ebay cold air intake for your truck.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=38634

Price is US$150 less than the K&N and just as good.

Got mine from e-bay for my 97 LS. It was a 3 piece kit that went all the way to the throttle body. I got it for around $35. Works great.

If it doesn't have a heat shield it's really not a CAI... If it's open then you're still sucking in engine heat...

Meh, the difference will not be noticeable.

Untrue... We've tested with and without. You can actually feel a marked response improvement with a heatshield over without. Also gas miledge becomes affected. Several of us on this side have found anywhere between a 2-4 mpg difference in gas miledge. I picked up 2 with over without. Cooler air=better fuel/air mixture.

Re: Cold Air Intake?

With a 1997 blazer driving along at 60mph he will not have a huge difference in temperature.

Re: Cold Air Intake?

Again, untrue...While it won't help much in the way of pickup at that speed, it does maintain a more constant fuel/air mixture and helps with gas miledge... Again, cold air=better air/fuel mix.

Re: Cold Air Intake?

I have used my K&N Cold air intake with and without the heatshield and no change or difference was detected in power or fuel economy.

Re: Cold Air Intake?

Ebay, the cheapest you can get.

And people love them.

heat shield

I found a heat shield for the cold air style intake system for those interested. Its 31.99 but it is still cheaper to add this on a e-bay system than to buy the brand name product. By the looks of it, you can probably make a pretty decent one yourself if you have any skills in fabrication.
