1967 Impala SS Disc Brake COnversion

Hello,
Just bought a 67 SS and it needs new brakes. People have told me to change the front drums to Discs. Is this sound advice? Where is the best place to get the kit?
Thanks

Don't need a kit. Just get the spindles complete with rotors and calipers, the metering valve , and brake lines from the master cylinder from a 68-70 full sized Chevrolet in your local junk yard and bolt them on. You should get a new master cylinder and a set of "Loaded Calipers" are pretty cheap. This works for all full sized Chevrolets from 1965 to 1970. I have a set on my 65 and it stops great. All the aftermarket stuff I have seen used the small rotors from a Chevelle. You will have to use 15" front wheels with the factory stuff.
