Problem with CD player...

I have a Toyota L4210 3-disc CD changer, for reference...
I've had problems with the CD player in my car almost since I've had it, which is just over two years now, but all of them were remedied before now.

At first I thought a CD had become jammed in the player because it wouldn't attempt to even play any of the other two CDs in there. Then I realised that 1) The player was not recognizing the other two discs present (the lcd lights say so) and 2) it will act like it's about to eject when asked, or change CDs when asked, but it either gets stuck in transition OR it just pops back in and disc 1 is still in place. I don't know how to get the cartridge out since eject won't work and when it gets stuck sticking out, it's held in by a frame. I'm thinking this is one for the shop, but I'm trying whatever I can first.
