Product Review : B-Series OBX Helical LSD

Greeting Folks,

Just spent my whole sunday afternoon playing with the transmission in the CRX today, Swapping Casings (old one leaking), addin a LS 5th gear and finaly an OBX LSD unit.

the installation of the OBX unit is fairly strait forward, you may want to get a Shop to swap the spedo gear and Press on the bearing from your old diff, this should prove to be a fairly cost and time saving venture.

once the old diff removed, place ring gear on obx unit and re-install. make sure to seal the case quite nicely.

re assembly is the same as disasembly... unless you plan on playing with the gears like I did.

alright... on to testing...

so far I have about 50km on the OBX unit and new tranny and I have to say I am pleased with the unit thus far. the unit seems to be working flawlessly, the takeoff is much quicker than before, and the powershift seems to be transfering more power to the road, getting a chirp seems to be a little more difficult now.

I tried a few times to get the wheels to break free, and only managed once so far.

so far so good, and testing will continue.

so far I am very impressed with the unit and give it a thumbs up.

Kun
