windsheild wiper ?

hello, im VERY new to the VW family i drove a toyota all my life and decided to change and get a REAL car. anyways, i have a 2003 1.8T jetta manual tranny etc.... the wipers keep slapping againest rhe pillar on the drivers side how can i fix this without driving 45 mins to the dealer??

also is a dealer necesary to service this car? i don't want some dope mechanic to even touch my car. go to dealer or a real well known shop?

also.. if someone could give me a link to a scheduled maintaince list. i didn't get a booklet on that stuff. oh and BTW this car rocks

Re: windsheild wiper ?

On the wiper base pry off the cap. Loosen the bolt with a socket. Pull the wiper arm off and put it back on moving the arm 1 notch to the right.

That might do it.
