Hesitation Issues

Hello all my 98 with 90K on it has some hesitation issues. There were some problems with hesitations about 6 mos ago, I replaced the plugs and it was fine since then. This time, it's a bit worse. Basically, the RPM drops a bit at idle and jumps around. While driving under slight and moderate acceleration, the car hesitates a bunch. Feels like it's electrical or fuel. I've read some posts here and I changed my plug wires and cleaned my EGR valve(wasn't too bad). After the plug wires, it helped a little, but still not all that great. I have a fuel presure regulator on order, so I figure that's another thing on the list. I checked the vacuum lines and tightned up the intake today too. If the FPR doesn't fix it, I think I'll have to check out the coils next. How do I go about doing that?? Also, what other things should I be doing?

Thanks
I love the car...but am worried it's going downhill and I'll have to trade her in soon!!!

Re: Hesitation Issues

A 98 with 90,000 should be good for a long time. I had the same problem, did plugs/wires huge improvement, but could still feel a slight miss under gentle acceleration, very irratating. Bought one coil and started on one side of the motor with the new coil and worked my way across until the miss went away. It was the third coil over. The same coil for a plug that was gapped very tight and all burnt up when I pulled it out.

What is the right coil to get. Delco D555? I also see some GP sorensons listed for a little cheaper, but I usually stick with Delco's. Is this the right one? Is it ok to go with the cheaper brands that are around $20 instead of $40?

Thanks

Re: Hesitation Issues

I would definetly spend the money for Delco parts. Don't know the number.
