Question thumping noise

I think I am going to go crazy if I keep having problems with my 99 grandam its a v6. Last night on my way home my car started making a thumping/ clunking noise it kind of sounded likes a flat tire. The noise getts louder the harder I push on the brakes and the low traction light comes on. I am not sure what is causing this noise I just had my brake pads replaced a couple months ago. Oh it's not a flatt tire but there is a lot of brake dust on the front tires that wasn't there before. Also the car doesn't make the noise while backing up just going forward. It's like it thumps and jerks to a stop at the same time. Pease help me!!! Before I go crazzy!

Re: thumping noise

Check your wheel bearings. Raise front of vehicle with jack and support with jack stands then place hands at 12 and 6 oclock and see if you have any movement in wheel.
