Oil Change Frustration!
It was Friday night and I decided to change my oil around 10PM. Usually takes me about 15-20 minutes from start to finish. Everything was going according to plan until I fired up the engine and 5 quarts of brand new Royal Purple oil blasted onto my garage floor. I didn't forget to put in the plug or oil filter so my immediate thought was a defective oil filter. After spending a hour mopping up the oil and scrubbing the floor I pulled the filter back off for inspection. Everything looked fine until I realized the damn rubber gasket from the original filter was stuck to the engine block (something I always check except this time). Well I fixed that problem and 2 hours later I was finally done. I had to buy more oil the next day.
Cost of oil change: 10 quarts Royal Purple = $60 1 Oil Filter = $6 3 Beach Towels (to soak up oil) = $15 Total = $81
