Radio failure
I have a 2000 Lincoln LS. The car is one month out of warranty. The other day there was a strong burning smell in the car and then the whole radio/cd clock etc quit. Is this been a problem?

Re: Radio failure
All the functions have failed. I suspect that I am in for a new unit.

Re: Radio failure
I have not had mine apart and have not been privildged to any schematics but there may be an internal fuse. If you have the time disasseble and take a look. But if you are under warranty it may be covered.

Re: Radio failure
I have taken it into the dealership. They will approach Ford to see if they will cover. The repair is from $200 to $350 depending on whether they replace the unit or repair it. It also caused a short in the power system and drained the battery. I had to jump the battery to get the car going on.
