You might as well get an S2000 and turbo it, because it'll cost you almost the same.

Re: rear wheel conversion?

first, anything is possible.
second, dont listen to nay sayers, because they will be the first to congatulate when your rolling smoke off the back tires.

Your going to have to rotate the engine in the engine bay so its setup like a FR car, and the move the gas tank into the trunk or somewhere else so the axle can live there. i suggest the ford 9" pumkin, and some good axles. deffinitely upgrade the shocks and springs, because with that type of converions you might add ~300 lbs. going to need a custom drive line and fuck with the transmission. i'd say on the cheap side, about 7g's. but it would be fatty.

Re: rear wheel conversion?

When he says "fuck with the transmission" he means *serious* fucking. I don't know how you'd be able to shift with the axle in the back using the H22 tranny. And I wouldn't trust the integrity and strength of such a budget conversion...

If you want RWD, there are better platforms out there to work on.

Re: rear wheel conversion?

If you were to do it, it'd be more frugal to get a new engine all together. I reccomend an F20C. That means a new wiring harness and much wiring work to be done by yourself. Might be talking tubular chassis front and rear. Your firewall will need to be cut out. A driveline hump will need to be fabricated into the car. One-off shift linkage can be expected, as well as brake lines, fuel lines, exhaust routing, etc.. Doing all the work yourself, I estimate the cost to be at least 20k if you do an "ok" job. There's probably a million small things I left out that you will find if you do attempt this job.

Good luck.

Re: rear wheel conversion?

I agree, it would definitly be a huge challange probably the biggest thing you could do on a lude. It would be soooooo sweeeet if you pulled it off. Expect at least 20k. And like Aceshigh says question the durability.

How do i change my profile name?
